In Class Work with Photos . . .

The In-class Work:

1. Observation: take a careful look at your partner’s (or group’s) photos.

2. Look for patterns or categories into which the photos might be divided. Your divisions should be based on shared characteristics: maybe colors, or types of objects, or types of messages, or kinds of places, or any other division system you can think of that applies to this set of images. Take a few notes so you’ll remember your ideas.

3. As a group (or set of partners), divide these photos into at least three different categories based on their shared characteristics You are seeing these pictures as a set, as a whole made of different parts, and you want to find the way that they best fit together. At least 5 photos per set.

4. Report: I’d like to know how (based on what criteria) you divided up each other’s photos. Send me an email.

5. Upload the best set to www.Flickr.com. You’ll need to set up an account.

6. Create a “set” out of these, add descriptions to each photo and a description to the set. (See next entry down on blog for instructions.) When you've created your set, send me the URL of your Flickr page. (Again, see instructions in entry below for info about finding your URL.
