Ball Point is the WP's online, in-house writing handbook, with tips for writing and other helpful information. I will be directing you to sections of Ball Point (along with sections of the little spiral bound handbook you purchased for the course) for specific help on trouble areas in your writing.
There's a link to Ball Point in the right hand column of this blog. When you click it, you'll be taken to a page where you can view BP using the Acrobat reader. (If you don't have Acrobat--which is free--and you need help downloading it, either email me for instructions or--better--ask a computer savvy friend for help.) I recommend you download BP onto your personal computer so you'll have it for quick reference if you need it.
For now, you have been assigned the first chapter of BP. Chapter One (only seven pages long) outlines basic policies for the Writing Program. You need to read the chapter, then go back to the first page of BP and find the big yellow box that says "Link to the Policy Acknowledgement Sheet." Clicking the box will take you to a page which you should print, fill out, and bring to class on Monday the 29th. This sheet acts as a sort of contract between us: you acknowledge that you've read and understand the policies that affect you.
