Regarding "Spambots"

Just an FYI.

Some of you may be noticing that your getting little junk mail comments on your posts. They sound something like this:

"What a cool blog! I'll be back--count on it. Hope you visit mine, http://whatever.blogspot.com. It's all about blah blah blah.
These are "spambot" posts. My advice is to delete 'em by going to the comments area and clicking on the little trashcan icon beside them.

This post by another blogger does a good job explaining how "spambots" work and what they do. If the spambots start to get you down, you can go into the "setting" tab from your Blogger "dashboard," then to the "comments" settings, and set the "show word verification for comments" setting to "yes." This will make it so when people post comments, they will see an image of a word or series of letters on screen, made so only people, not computers, can read it as letters. Your commenters would have to type that word into a verification field before commenting.
